w-inds. are Keita, Ryohei, and Ryuichi. May, 2000, Keita was waiting for Ryo and Ryu in Tokyo to form the group. As for Ryo and Ryu, got their chance at Zepp Sapporo's Performance called "Bakken Record Vol.4". All three of them was spotted by the people from Free Gate Production (pre Rising Production) in each of the events.
August 1999, tghey came to Tokyo, became w-inds., living in the dorm together and doing stret performance at YoYoGi Park, then they moved to 109 mall in Shibuya
March 14, 2001, with first maxi single "Forever Memories" officially debuted.

? How did they come up with the name
There has been speculation that the name w-inds. come from the wind from the north and the south which meets in Tokyo, represented by Keita, Ryuichi and Ryohei.
? How did they come together
w-inds. started out when two competitions were held, one in Northen Japan and the other in Southern Japan. Keita was the winner from the south beating almost 3000 other hopefuls, he was 15. Ryohei and Ryuichi were the top two from the north, they were respectively 16 & 15. The both of them had already known each other as they were both veteren dancers by that age and had participated in many competitions and auditions together. And so these three were united in Tokyo.
? How did they become famous
They started out by performing on streets in Yoyogi Park in Shibuya every Sunday since November 2000. The amount of audiene grew immensely as each week passes. On March 11 2001, 8,000 persons are mobilized in the Shibuya HOKO heavens for the real debut. And they also brought their performances from Sapporo to Fukuoka, sweeping these districts by storm.
